Viatel offers a range of business communications, connectivity, voice, cloud and digital transformation services to clients. It is expected that final revenue figures for the business for last year will exceed €70 million and that this will multiply as it expands its presence abroad.
Over the past year or so it has announced a series of acquisitions, including Wicklow based broadband service provider Wifiber, Limerick located ActionPoint and Dublin headquartered SupportIT. Viatel has operations around the country in Dublin, Limerick and Dundalk.
“It’s good to see that jobs are being created in the tech sector and that companies are still recruiting, notwithstanding the fact that so many companies are downsizing,” said Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, who attended an event at the company’s office today to mark the announcement.
“It demonstrates that Ireland is open to investment, to trade, to talent and to creativity, and that we are a country of opportunity, where indigenous enterprise can flourish alongside international companies.”
